you like curling up on the couch while listening to Mendelssohn or
letting Gershwin help you find your rhythm, there likely is a BYU group that performs
your favorite music—but you don't have to be on campus to enjoy it.
Through BYU's recording label,
Tantara Records, faculty musicians and student
performing groups have recorded some 60 albums since 1993. Now, in cooperation
with Tantara,
BYU Magazine has created an online BYU music sampler, where you can
download nearly three dozen songs performed by faculty and student musicians.
To enter the site, you will need to use the access code found on page 51 of your copy
of the fall 2007
BYU Magazine or in the November 2007 issue of
MyBYU News. Then a
campus full of music will open up to you. You can read about the performers, listen to
previews, link to Tantara's site to purchase an entire CD, or download songs at no
charge—but only until April 30, 2008. After that date, free downloads will no
longer be available.
